Spira ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Spira freediving and apnea training app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of personal data:

• Name — used to personalise your profile
• Email address — used for account creation and authentication
• User ID — an internal identifier linked to your account
• Health data — heart rate and oxygen saturation, if you connect a wearable device (optional)
• Fitness data — breath-hold times, training session records, and performance history

2. How We Use Your Data

• To create and manage your Spira account
• To provide personalised training tables, AI coaching plans, and session history
• To enable the buddy monitoring and social features
• To sync wearable health data when you opt in
• To improve app performance and fix issues via anonymised analytics

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We use the following services which may process data on our behalf:

• Firebase (Google) — push notifications and crash reporting
• OpenAI — AI-generated training plan content (anonymised inputs only)

All third-party processors are bound by data processing agreements and applicable privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).

4. Data Storage & Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Your data is stored on secure servers. Health and fitness data is stored only for the purpose of providing the Spira service and is never used for advertising.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data, training sessions, and health records are permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for optional data collection (e.g. wearable sync)

To delete your account, open Spira → Settings → Account → Delete Account, or follow the account deletion guide. Alternatively, contact us at achatir3@gmail.com.

7. Children's Privacy

Spira is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via the app or by email. Continued use of Spira after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
